The Ordovician – Silurian Extinction

Today I learned about the Ordovician-Silurian Mass Extinction event. The Ordovician Extinction killed of a lot of life on earth, especially cephalopods (animals related to squids, octopuses, cuttlefish, and nautiluses.). A lot of straight-shelled nautiluses, such as Orthoceras, became extinct. Jawless fish like Pteraspis and Hemicyclaspis also became extinct. However, this extinction paved the way for the newly evolve Jawed Fish.
